Apple has released watchOS 6.0.1 to the public. The latest watchOS 6.0.1 arrives with enhanced security features and better performance. Apple has also resolved a couple of issues that existed on watchOS 6.1.

Apple Watch users have also been complaining about poor battery backup. However, it is not known whether or not watchOS 6.0.1 fixes the issue. That being said, the watchOS 6.0.1 update fixes the issue affecting select watch faces. Users complained that Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse had lost the ability to speak the time. If you set Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse as your watch face then you can simply tap the screen to hear the time.

The complete changelog for watchOS 6.0.1 is as follows,

  • Resolves an issue where the Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse watch face does not speak time
  • Addresses an issue where the calendar complication may not display events
  • Fixes a bug that could result in a loss of display calibration data.

watchOS 6 has a couple of new watch faces and most of them are only available for Apple Watch Series 4. One of them is the new Solar Dial watch face. It builds on the old solar watch face by taking an analog route. There’s a special solar dial in the middle of the analog dial. You can add four complications in the corners outside the analog dial.

Reminders App

The new Reminders app on Apple Watch goes hand in hand with the new iOS 13 version. And for a change, there’s actually a big button for creating a new reminder just as you open the app (something that’s missing in the iPhone app). You can create a reminder using your voice or by scribbling the letters using your fingers.
