Chimera Jailbreak Now Supports iOS 12.3, but There’s a Catch
The Electra team has released Chimera 1.2.4 which can jailbreak A7-A8 devices running iOS 12.1.3 – iOS 12.2. This means one can now use Chimera to jailbreak their iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and other such devices.
Like Unc0ver, Chimera was updated earlier this month with the new Sock Puppet exploit that allowed it to jailbreak iPhones and iPads running iOS 12.2. However, the initial release with iOS 12.2 support did not work with A7-A8 devices due to some issues which the Electra team has now resolved.

This adds support for A7 and A8 devices on 12.1.3 to 12.2 including certain 12.3 betas!

The good news is that Chimera 1.2.4 also works with iOS 12.3 Before you get too excited though, the catch is that it only works with selected beta builds. The chances of anyone running iOS 12.3 beta on their iPhone/iPad is relatively less but if you are among the few lucky users, there’s a chance that you can jailbreak it using Chimera. Only selected iOS 12.3 beta builds are compatible so your mileage is going to vary in this regard.
Similar to Unc0ver, Chimera also does not support jailbreaking 4K devices like the iPhone XS, iPhone XR, and the 2018 iPad Pro running iOS 12.2. For these devices, it can only jailbreak them if they are running iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2.
If you had already used Chimera to jailbreak your iPhone previously, you can update to the latest build by installing the latest version and then re-jailbreaking your device.
