Adobe is Testing a $20 Monthly Price Tag for Photography Plan With Lightroom and Photoshop
The sweet spot for most subscription services seems to be between $5 and $15 per month. Of course, that can differ depending on the service and what’s included. And while price hikes (and price drops) do happen, most users can expect a bit of a warning before it goes into effect.
Adobe is certainly providing a bit of a warning, insofar that it’s already rolled out a test of a price hike for one of its monthly plans. Specifically, as noted on Thursday by PetaPixel, Adobe has jacked up the price of its Photography package from $10 per month to $20 per month. The Photography package includes Photoshop CC, Lightroom Classic CC, and Lightroom CC. It also normally comes with 20GB of cloud storage, too.
However, the price hike does come with a change, too. The new $20 per month now offers 1TB of cloud storage, along with the three apps. Interestingly, this makes it only $1 cheaper than the $21 per month option, which only offers access to one Creative Cloud app (and 100GB of cloud storage).
It looks like Adobe does plan on rolling this out to all users at some point in the future, and is testing the new price point before that happens. But there does not appear to be an exact date for that just yet.
